Boysenberries

Unique flavor derived from being part raspberry and part blackberry.

Selection

Choose boysenberries that are shiny, plump, and firm. Avoid berries that are bruised or leaking. Pick when they are dark purple. Boysenberries do not ripen all at once; it takes about a month for them to all ripen.

Storage

Remove any moldy or deformed berries. Refrigerate boysenberries for up to one week in original package. Wash before using.

Freeze on a cookie sheet and then bag in freezer for up to 4 months.
