Tasty relative to strawberries, apricots, and raspberries.


Choose blackberries that are shiny and not bruised or leaking. Generally, the fruiting season is in the summer - July, August, and September.

Wear gloves; these get prickly.


Refrigerate blackberries for 3-6 days; wash just before using. They are highly perishable. Keep in a shallow container covered with a paper towel or plastic wrap with holes for ventilation.
